St. Elizabeth Seton's altar servers are comprised of youths who wish to share their time and talent and enhance the liturgy by assisting our priests and deacons at Mass and special liturgies. A server must be in the fifth grade, baptized and available to serve all Mass times. A server candidate should have some understanding of the Eucharistic liturgy as well as their responsibilities as a server. The server is to model good participation for the assembly. Lay ministers supervised by an Ordained minister are assigned with the duties of training all new servers. Generally, each server will be scheduled one or more times per month. Trainings are conducted bi annually and are posted in the bulletin.

Our Art and Environment ministry is a group of creative people who use their talents to enhance and support the liturgy. Our goal is to provide a hospitable environment of prayerful participation. This is done to create appropriate surroundings and rich symbolic representation in keeping with the liturgical season. We are responsible for seasonal environment, flowers, furnishings and objects used in liturgical celebrations. Art and environment work is often sporadic and seasonal, but the committee is always interested in recruiting artists, seamstresses, crafters, interior and floral designers.

Baptism is the invitation our Church offers to its newest members. A monthly Baptism workshop is provided to new parents before the sacrament is celebrated. This is an invitation to those parents to take part in the new life they are bringing into the Church.
The pre-baptismal time is one of welcome for the child and their parents. It is also a time of discernment for parents as they come forward to the Church requesting Baptism for their child. Such sacramental preparation is one of the ways our Church continually reaches out to its members.
Baptism is celebrated most Sundays at 1:00 P.M. or at a weekend Mass by appointment. Please call the Parish Office to make arrangements to attend the Baptismal Meeting held the third Sunday of each month at 11:15 AM.

Greeters are called to the task of hospitality as the assembly gathers for worship, especially reaching out to newcomers. They maintain comfort and order, tending to those who need special attention. Training is provided.

Lectors and commentators, the group that proclaims the Word of God through reading the Scriptures at Mass and related services, are really better termed "communicators." For a few brief moments, the lector has an opportunity to become a storyteller, bringing to the assembly the songs of a poet, the visions of a prophet, or the emotions of an apostle.
Lectors, those who proclaim the Scriptures, and commentators, those who welcome the assembly and read the prayers of the faithful, typically minister at one Mass every three to four weeks. Each member is both a lector and commentator, and serves in each capacity on an alternating basis. Mass time assignments are also rotated.
Other than a sense of commitment and completion of a two hour training session, there are no prerequisites to become a part of the group. Meetings are not regularly scheduled, but members do gather periodically to hone their skills and share their thoughts and ideas with one another.

Liturgy planning is a ministry in which persons gifted and trained bring together in harmony those four elements which make up any liturgical celebration: environment, music, gesture and word. Planners must be willing to work in a collaborative manner, acquire an understanding of the church's liturgy, and make choices within the boundaries of good liturgy and authentic parish traditions. Training is provided.

The focus of the Marriage Preparation Program is to provide couples from the parish with an opportunity to discuss both secular and religious issues that are important to building a strong marriage centered on God and our Catholic Faith. The program is structured to allow the "engaged couple" and the "married couple," who serves as their sponsor, the opportunity to enter into a series of discussions during four separate sessions. The topics range from expectations of married life, communication, growth and change in a relationship, and, finally, marriage as a sacrament.
Married couples from our parish serve as the sponsors for the ministry. New couples interested in joining our team are welcome.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults:
|
![]() |
RCIA is the rite whereby adults inquiring about God and the Catholic faith share in prayer, faith experiences and study to discern where the Lord is leading them. Through this process, which involves various rituals and parish support, adults are added to the faith through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion, or they are brought into Full Communion with the Catholic Church through a profession of faith and reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion.
Adult Catholics who were baptized but not instructed in the faith enter the RCIA to prepare to complete their Rites of Initiation by receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Holy Communion.
Members of St. Elizabeth Seton, who wish to share their faith, are invited to join the RCIA as team members or sponsors to journey with those who come to us seeking the Lord in a new and deeper way. We come away with much more than we brought as we hear and share faith stories.
Are you someone who is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith or do you know someone who is not Catholic, but would like to know more about the Faith?
If so, there is a program right here at our parish, to explore the beauty of the gift of our Roman Catholic faith. This program is called RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). The program consists of presentations, discussion, sharing, and materials designed to walk you through the rich history of our faith, from its very roots in ancient Judaism, to the practices and structure of our contemporary Catholic Church. It can answer any questions you may have by explaining both dogma and tradition.
The first phase of the program is the Inquiry Period and is designed for the inquirers to find out what the Catholic Church is all about. During this, and all other phases, there is no commitment, you are free to continue, or not, at your discretion.
Join other adults from a wide variety of faiths as we embark together on this journey beginning on September 12th at 7:30 PM. Come and learn the beauty of the faith taught to us directly by Jesus and passed down to us by the apostles and their successors. Our Faith is rich in scripture and tradition, unchanged over 2000 years of Roman Catholicism.
If you are interested please call me or email me at any time at bartles67@wowway.com with any questions you may have about the RCIA program and what it takes to become a Catholic.

The purpose of the Wedding Hostess Ministry is to assist the Priest, Bride and Groom, and their families in the final stage of preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage. The ministry begins one to two weeks before the wedding and continues on the day of the wedding to ensure a smooth ceremony. The Wedding Hostess needs to be available for approximately 2 hours for the rehearsal and 3 hours for the wedding. Being a part of the Wedding Hostess Ministry and witnessing the beautiful Sacrament of Marriage is a wonderfully uplifting experience.
