Embracing Adoration -
A Workshop

PEA – Eucharistic Adoration Conference
Opening Mass

Readings for Mass on Saturday,
 Sept. 6    8:15 am Mass

First Reading is from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Hebrews  9:11-15

But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come to be, passing through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not belonging to this creation, he entered once for all into the sanctuary, not with the blood of goats and calves but with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.  For if the blood of goats and bulls and the sprinkling of a heifers ashes can sanctify those who are defiled so that their flesh is cleansed, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.  For this reason he is mediator of a new covenant: since a death has taken place for deliverance from transgressions under the first covenant, those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance.

The Word of the Lord

Psalm….  Sung by Choir

A reading from the Gospel according to John     6:51-58

Jesus said to the crowds: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”

The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, Amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.  Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.  For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.  Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.  Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.  This is the bread that came down from heaven.  Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”

                 PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

Believing that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament,

       WE PRAY:

That the Holy Father and his bishops and priests will inspire the faithful in ever deeper love of the Eucharist as body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ,  WE PRAY…

That those in public authority will respect the dignity of human life, even in the embryonic stage, as they face decisions regarding cloning and stem cell research,  WE  PRAY…

That old people will be revered and respected by their children and grandchildren and surrounded by their loved ones,  WE PRAY…

That young men and women will know the joy and freedom of chastity in dating and courtship,  WE PRAY…

That regularly praying the rosary will purify and transform our souls, so that we will become more and more like Christ and His Mother,  WE PRAY….\

That the Holy Spirit will inspire each of the conference participants to start adoration in their parish or increase existing partial hours of adoration in Jesus Name, WE PRAY…
